Default What is this Crap???

As I was washing my car and rinsed I noticed what I thought was just dirt wasn't coming off. After a closer look I discovered this stuff on the entire side of the car that appears to have been thrown up from the front wheels and/or going through a large puddle of whatever it is? It's hard and crusty and WON'T come off!!! I tried bug & tar remover, cleaner waxes, dish washing liquid, laundry detergent, a little bit of turpentine (just to see if it would dissolve it) and nothing touches it. It appears it might come off if I scratched very hard over and over again with my finger nail but I'm not going that route. I hate to resort to rubbing coumpound. Does anyone have any idea what it is and what I can use to dissolve it???

might want to try mixing a little vinegar and water and try it on the inside edge before you go the abrasive route.
