Spoke to a buddy that is a vet and he told me that his average price for an MRI is $700 (usually about 500-1200) so that $2500 seems a bit high....and that is including anesthesia in the cost.

That is the plan. The doctor did say that I could use my primary vet and it would be cheaper. Heading to pick him up in a couple minutes. Traffic is a nightmare in that area of Louisville right now.

He needs it. He acted like he was starving. Without certain tests, CT scan or MRI or something like that, He is probably not going to get better. He has meds, but I don't think he is any better than Sunday when I took him in. I need to keep him on a soft bed and kept where he cannot hurt himself and I have to clean his urine and feces off him.

Last year the wife and I needed some expensive dental work done, and we are not insured for that. Our dentist set us up with a company called Care Credit. They basically gave us a 2K line of credit and it's interest free if paid back in two years. It also can be used for veterinary care. We used it for dental work on our dog. Ask your vet if they use this company, or I'm sure there are others like it.

Hopefully the lab tests give us an answer.

He still has a problem with his neck, but no problems emptying his bladder. He gets frustrated when I am feeding him. It's not easy for him to eat with his neck bent like that.

Riley was put to sleep today. He had a fever, pneumonia, intestinal infection and whatever was causing the bent neck and loss of use of his left side. The vet didn't think that he would get better.
