Interesting (as is the Ebay auction to it).

Why do I get the feeling this Veyron will not be a salvage car either...

Hopefully, the VIN gets out before something like this can happen.

The cosmetic water damage to body and interior can easily be fixed (relatively speaking). Look how many Katrina cars came back to market.

More importantly, Although he may never have picked up his phone (on purpose - makes the story believable) I wonder if he miraculously had the presence of mind to kill the ignition before taking the plunge, preventing a very expensive hydrolock.

Dry it out, change the fluids, it will probably run again. Fixing the rest to make it salable (while no concerns of long term corrosion issues like wiring integrity) becomes a matter of cosmetic stuff, and a very profitable endeavor if insurance deems it a total loss.

Apparently the car ran for 15 minutes while half submerged. The air intakes are on top of the car, probably acting as a snorkel.

More and more information about this guy and his business is coming out. He is alleged to have sold at least two cars on eBay, claiming clear titles on cars known to have been damaged and repaired.

Why does this story give me the same feeling as that of Stefan Erikson (sp?), where the moral of the story was "If you can't afford or don't want public scrutiny, don't go driving around in flashy cars"?

Oh, BTW....

That Enzo he's flapping his gums about over at CF... its the Sadek/Eddie Griffin Enzo, the one Griffin wrecked and Mr House repaired.

He likes to claim its not that car, because hes desperate to find a sucker to buy it. Unfortunately for him, the Ferrari community has his number... literally.

IMO, hes a perfect fit for CF, right up there with Hennessey, Jim, Jesse and the rest of the retarded, feces chewing, dickless pussbags ruining the place.

Previous eBay ad for the Enzo, note the VIN...

Description
You are viewing what is probably the most famous Ferrari Enzo in existence. If you saw the movie Redline you've seen this beautiful Ferrari racing at top speeds through the Nevada desert. Unless you've been living in a cave you've probably also seen the YouTube video with actor/comedian Eddie Griffin driving the rare auto into a barrier while doing a publicity event for the movie in March 2007.

That's where Matthew's Auto Sales of Houston, Texas comes in. We bought the damaged Enzo from the movie producer after the incident last year. Our mission was to "Save the Enzo" as our friends at Jalopnik.com have coined. It seems that many of the 400 Enzos produced have ended up in pieces at the hands of unskilled drivers. 650 hoursepower and no skill equals problems. Making the remaining Enzos even more rare. The news reports at the time reported this car as "totaled". Certainly, $91,833.05 in parts and $50,000.00 in labor costs doesn't total a $1.5 million dollar car. That's less then 10% of it's value. All replaced parts were new and from the Ferrari factory. Car has a good California title.

We will also brag about ourselves and how we repair high end vehicles perfectly. This car is perfect in every respect. It was hand built by Ferrari and hand built by us. The flawless paintwork is now covered with a clear bra on the entire front end. This is because we feel that supercars (Ferrari Enzos) were built to be driven, not sit idle in a garage and get waxed every third day and/or week. But, if that is what you like to do, then you can take the clear bra off of this one and wax away.

Do you know the final price of the first auction?

Edit, I found the year-old auction had a BIN price of $990k...wondering if it sold for less than that.

IIRC the car never sold on that particular auction, or any other eBay auction, and if Mr House is actually the titled owner of the car the transaction may have been private between his company, Performance Auto Sales (Lufkin, TX) and the company that rebuilt the Enzo, Matthews Auto Sales (Houston, TX)

Here are the latest pics of the Veyron...

Note the grill emblem and the missing passenger-side headlight washer... nice condensation in that passenger-side headlight too...

Look for it on eBay soon...
