Now if anyone actually has a picture of him we can have some fun. So far nobody has come forth and provided one. As far as the obsession is concerned, there are no other faces associated with any in the community, with the exception of Yaddy. If you would like to submit pics of family or friends or enemies to be ridiculed, then please supply them so I can spread it out a little and I won't seem so obsessed with one individual. I'm sure Mr. Potato Head would appreciate that...

I have looked at the other tractor manufacturers. And I was initially set on a Kubota but I did not like it once I checked them out. I also looked at Mahindra, New Holland, Massey, and LS.

In the end the John Deere was the brand I wanted and I will stick with. I like the product and I also like the dealership support. I have a little JD 48" lawn "tractor" and the JD 32 HP compact. Both have been excellent.

My next purchase will be a JD Gator, diesel with HVAC cab and all the goodies. Yes I looked at the Ranger and the Mule and will look at the Sidekick but I'm pretty sure I will go green. (actually camo )
Then in a couple of years I'm going to purchase a larger HVAC compact or utility tractor in the 60-90 HP range, probably the JD 5075.

My best buddy is a farmer, and bought his first JD around 1973. He's still at it, but mostly just does hay for his wife's stable and beef cattle; he used to raise buffalo, but sold them all about 5 years ago. He's had a lot of JDs but I know he got soured on them for some reason.

I really don't pay any attention to newer tractors anymore but I haven't noticed any green tractors there in years. But I was there a couple weeks ago to get some manure (he is still in Florida) so one of his guys loaded me up.

The tractor was red and I could not see any name on it anywhere. I asked him when we were done and he said it's made in Korea, and that they like them a lot. It was a mid-size and there was another full-size next to it, same brand. There may be more, inside one of the buildings, I don't know.

I will ask my buddy more about this when I see him next, in a month or so, because now I'm curious why his tractors are no longer green.
