Default Even the jaws of life couldn't save the treadmill--need recommendations

Sad to say but I believe the end is near for my treadmill. We have had many good and bad times but I think it's time to pull the plug for good. After changing the belt three years ago and putting in new fuses, he just doesn't perform the way he should. He is starting to make these strange noises (okay the azzhat groans when I get on it I won't lie) and the belt slips at times not to mention his sudden stops that just leaves me hanging.
So, oh wise ones what kind of treadmill do you have or recommend and why?

What are you crazy it's friggen cold and rainy around these parts. The people in my hood don't exactly have yardsales and can barely drive their cars out of their driveways without running themselves over I doubt they use treadmills.

It's not always easy for me to get to the gym to do cardio that is why I like to have a treadmill at home.

Gotcha. After I typed that, I thought "oh, I bet she likes to do the treadmill when the kids are home and she cannot get to the gym."

You need to go on the "Eat like a fly diet"

Eat everything in sight; Chocolate, bacon, ice cream, cookies, etc.

You've never seen a fat fly, have you?

If you want a treadmill that will last for years get a Vision or True treadmill.
We have had a Vision for the last seven years and both my wife and I use it.
Big thing about a lot of treadmills is most can take walking on them but a lot of them fold if you start talking about jogging or running on them. Also, like most things in life...be prepared to drop some bucks if you want something that lasts. A $599 treadmill is not going to hold up to pounding.
That being said, a good home treadmill with TV is worht a lot compared to most of the exercise regimes out there. No weather excuses, no crowds etc, noone watching you while you work out

Thanks for the advice. I usually either walk or sorta run on the treadmill never really pounded on one but that could be my problem.
