The Panoz
Here's some shots from July w/ NASA @ Summer Slam @ VIR. Ran TTS on Sunday and had a best of 2:11 on full course the first session out. Running on fairly used R6s. Car is built around NASA ST2 specs and currently has 315 rwhp. Weighed 2975 w/ me in it and 3/4 of my 32 gallon fuel cell full.
Taking it out this weekend for NASA's Fall Finale running TTS. My father is running it in HPDE3 (advanced). Built 5.0 w/ AFR 165s, Ed Curtis cam, and a Pro-Systems carb. Interior setup w/ the new Tach and Traqmate data acquisition/lap timer setup and PI digital dash (we use the PI for oil temp, pressure, water temp etc. etc.)

It's great for the track because it's easy to work on and consumables last forever... especially compared to a C5/C6 platform. If I should ever introduce it to a tire wall it's every easy to fix as the chassis is square-tube and the body panels are plastic.

Set a new personal best today with a 2:09.1. No 100% clear laps though.

Well Sunday was great... ran a 2:07.3 2nd session Sunday and finished 2nd overall in my class. I win 1 free Hoosier tire for my efforts
http://www.mylaps.com/results/showrun.jsp?id=1346451 The classes aren't listed, but the first two cars are in TTU and Mark Nunnally is in TTA w/ his C5Z. Dan Kroll's STi edged me out for the TTS victory.

Quote:
It's a Panoz race car designed for the Panoz driving schools that are located at Sebring, Road Atlanta, and Texas Motor Speedway. They sold the driving school operation to Barber Motorsports who decided to use Mazda Miatas so all the school cars went up for sale. The car is designed, looks wise, around the Panoz Esperante street car.
