Don't know why anyone would brag about sending jobs overseas and undercutting pay for Americans. I guess working at McDonald's is good enough for American citizens.

The onshore resource that was in the hunt was the first choice for both me and the company, and he was triple the cost. I've worked with him at 2 firms before, and was a fan of closing that deal. At the end of the day, he chose a different company, and I was left filling a spot with very specific needs. My choice happens to be from India, but gut check...our USA people spend more time on social media and don't care about the hard sciences. I need people with skills and work ethics. Not posers who think Tick Tock is a lifestyle. USA lost it's edge 2 generations ago, which is sad as hell. Why do you think we're in this DEI nightmare now?

Racial profiling, for the most part, deals with forms of criminal activity (e.g. stopping a car after a bank robbery solely based on the fact that the driver is black) based on unproven assumptions or anecdotal evidence. It's not a crime to do bad work, but it sure is frustrating for those who have to clean up the mess.
Stereotypes don't create themselves. There's nearly always a factual basis to corroborate the behavior. Saying that 75% of "Ethnic Group X" are shitty engineers based on my 30+ years of working with them and having to correct a lot of their work is not anecdotal. It is material fact based on my firsthand experience. Someone else could say "Wellllll I wasn't there so it's not factual to me" and thats fine. I know what I know and what I've seen. And if they want to accuse me of profiling, that's ok too. Don't really care. |

I do find most from Asia (and India is in Asia as well) engineers default to lack of English Communication and understanding if they make a mistake. I now send emails and refuse to take phone calls from them.
Typically 2nd Generation is OK and typically very good as their parents are strict about school. |

Hierarchy is a big deal to them. I think he would have rather I slept with his wife than call his boss. When you talk to the higher ups, they are very Americanized in their talk and thinking, everyone else are peasants and serfs. |

This is exactly how hispanic construction workers are. Real good at doing the same thing over and over, but zero problem solving skills and no finesse.
