It was a bit foggy Saturday and Sunday here, but it turned sunny and warm.

It sounds like you are ready for the rain to stop. We could use some rain.

Greaat weather in OKC. Mid 80s for the last week and continues until this weekend. We could use some rain though

Working from home this week.
I am so tired of carrying 5 lb buckets of rain water from my rain barrels to water all the evergreen trees/shrubs we just planted.

I wondered how those worked. Do they not come with a threaded fitting that you can connect a garden hose to? If not, I believe you could drill a hole at the bottom of the barrel and install the threaded fitting. You might have to find a round gasket/washer to conform to the radius of the barrel. But I believe that would be easy to do.

Morning Ben.

If it is going to be nice, is it a day of chores or beer drinking?

You're right, and they do have all the cool fittings but we planted along the stream and far South yard, so too far to water with gravity hose. Rain watering is the only way to go for plants IMO.

Morning Brent.

We have a 50 gallon barrel that is used to collect rain water. There is a hose bibb near the bottom for a hose to be connected to. I'll take a pic and post it later.

You could buy a small submersible pump. Anything to save your back.

How many rains does it normally take to fill up the barrel?

It depends on the amount or rain and under which downspout it is placed. It never really gets full because you use the water between rains.
