Default Long Day, H4H, Futre Vette Owner, Cruise

I showed up at a Beachcomber Habitat 4 Humanity volunteer day in downtown Newport News before 8am this morning, we hung siding, built back porch, painted, hung doors, trimmed windows, set door casings all by 1pm.

Headed over to the NASCAR Sports Grill, met a few more Vette owners and a 16 year old that is into Corvettes for his first Vette Cruise. While having lunch the manager (Vette owner) talks to us about doing a Vette night there, a sailor and his wife who just bought a Vette asked who had all the Vettes parked outside and wound up joining us for their first Vette Cruise.

8 or 9 of us did the standard Yorktown to Jamestown Ferry, Surry to Smithfield route ending up at a members circa 1800s restored farmhouse for a beer or two after exploring some local twisties.

Got home just before 7pm

Kudos on helping out with the H4H. The rest sounds like a pretty good time too. I like taking the Ferry, it's a nice drive from my house over to Surry.

Thanks guys, I got involved in H4H through the company I work for. The local chapter is trying a neat thing called "Friends of Habitat" where social clubs donate $1000 or more and they get pooled together to build a "Friend" house.

Beachcombers agreed to be a H4H "Friend" and wanted to do a couple of work days as well. I figured we could get better participation doing a work and play day.

You could have extended it a little and cruised over to the TNCC theater and checked out our concert.

Sounds like a cool day tony
