Default Road Trip: NC to NY back to NC

YorkL8apex (Tony), Shrek (Jeff), and myself made a quick trip to NY last Friday and Saturday to retrieve some goods. Here's how it went.
I left work at 1130 and drove the 4 hours north up route 17 to meet Jeff and Tony in Norfolk.
Quick pit stop in Elizabeth City.

Stuck at the draw bridge in Chesapeake.

We left Norfolk around 1600 Friday and headed up the eastern shore to avoid the traffic on 64 and 95. Our goal was Bridgewater, NJ where we could get a little rest.
Loading up in Jeff's Tahoe.

Rolling across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

A quick dinner stop at Applebee's on the eastern shore.

Passing Dover International Speedway

Fuel stop in Delaware. Notice the price per gallon.

We got up to the hotel at 2330 and grabbed a couple hours of sleep.

We were back on the road at 0600 looking for somewhere to eat breakfast. Note to self, the Friendly's in Moorisville NJ doesn't serve breakfast.

On our way through NJ, we were passed by this beast on 287. I grabbed a couple quick pics.

We got a good lead on a local diner in Goshen NY. It was a great meal which helped for the long day ahead.

We made it to our destination around 0830 Saturday morning and proceeded to get to work. Once the ZR-1 was moved off the lift we got to work taking the lift apart and loading it up along with some extra parts.

Someone put this in the pile of items to pickup but there was no way we were making room for this thing. It stayed in NY and is probably in the dump by now.

And the ZR-1 we brought back.

We were loaded up and back on the road headed South around 1130.

Hitting traffic on the Jersey Turnpike.

Fuel stop on the turnpike with a quick snack for lunch.

Delaware Memorial Bridge

Pit stop and driver change on the eastern shore.

Final stop for gas and bathroom breaks. 100 miles from Norfolk on the 13. I got back in the ZR-1 to take the final stint.

After taking over on the final stint, the odometer reached 42,900 miles.

Back at Jeff's shop roughly 30 hours after we left. It was an uneventful trip with a few good stories told.

Belongs to a longtime friend moving to FL. No room at the new house in FL, so we offered to store/drive it. They have four other vehicles and three bikes.

Thanks.
I forgot a picture of Jeff, Tony, and Orin (ZR-1 owner) emptying the oil can so we could take that too.

You can see all the help I offered.

You were TONS of help, if it were not for you, we would not have been able to see everything that went on.

Nice job at documenting....too bad you won't be at the Mod Party, I would have had a job for you...LOL

Nice! I didn't know it was "that kind" of trip. "Not that there's anything wrong with that".
