Why you need FMJ? Lead shoots great in a 9mm. It's always been cheaper than FMJ for me (1000 9mm for $54!). Get mine from Dardas. No shipping because it's local... But I believe that price is similar to what you can expect from any cast bullet supplier.

Not in Glocks they don't...unless you wanna swap barrels...and for GSSF you have to keep your gun stock.

I'll pay a bit more to keep it FMJ. $82/1k shipped isn't bad. I probably should order more before it goes up in price.

Sure thing - dardas cast bullets
As I mentioned, they shoot great. No barrel leading, very accurate.

They come packaged like this -

I buy them in boxes of 500 because they're easier to handle Don't know what it is that causes it but I get a different feeling from shooting lead. Hard to explain, it's like more real to me or something, as if the gun steals part of the experience when shooting jacketed bullets.

$100 and I could get an after market barrel to shoot lead or shoot 9mm from my .40 cal glock...I just keep them stock for now. I could be wrong but I think GSSF has some rules on what can /cannot be changed.

I love my Glocks though, simple and reliable. But even with FMJ I can reload 9mm at half price.

I know people that shoot lead from their glocks but you gotta watch for fouling...otherwise you could have a serious issue next time you pull the trigger.

Fouling or lead build up? These are two different things to me. Fouling being more of a powder residue/carbon build up sort of thing. Lead build up makes the bore smaller to a much greater degree than powder fouling so I can see how that would cause unsafe pressures but powder fouling not so much.

Don't they blame the sloped angle from the corner of the lands down into the grooves as a cause for the problem and claim this is why aftermarket barrels are the cure, because they have square rifling? I can picture the angled rifling of the cutting edge stripping off greater amounts of lead as a bullet is forced into rotation due to micro-slippage. If it's powder fouling they're talking about I just can't imagine rifling configuration alone as a cause for excessive powder fouling when using the same load. Do they presume the bullet fails to obturate thus reasulting in an incomplete burn or ?

I've got a Ruger varmint rifle that uses a combination of the two shapes. One side of the land is squared (the cutting edge) and the other sloped (trailing edge). This is claimed to decrease pressure allowing for hotter/faster loads. If one sloped edge reduces pressure then two might have a larger effect. However this would be readily evidenced by chronograph results and I've never heard complaints about glocks shooting slower than other guns given same load and barrel length.
