Not a Crown fan anyway, I can't imagine making it even more sticky sweet is going to make me like it more.

Infusing liquors is a trend in city yuppie bars. I think Crown is just trying to tap into that market.

I'm a long time Crown Royal fan, but I hate to admit I'm somewhat intrigued.
I'd be willing to try it if I could buy a small bottle. |

Alcohol, by nature, doesn't taste all that good. Flavored liquors are marketed to people that don't like the taste of alcohol to begin with. One of the largest sections of flavored liquor consumers are... underage kids. That's because flavored liquor has all the power of real liquor without the unpleasant taste. Just look at some of the flavors: fluffy marshmallow, whipped cream, bubble gum... these are aimed at the underage crowd. Mixed drinks are different; as they attempt to have the added items build on the other; instead of tyring to change the overall flavor. WHEW - good thing I dont' drink alcohol any more (and haven't for over 20 years) ... or I would be pationant about this. |

Not according to history! Flavours have been added to straight whiskey for hundreds of years. The monks started doing it first as in Brandy and Benedictine, and Grand Marnier, and then the Scots with Drambuie, and countless other famous libations (Southern Comfort!). Experimentation is Gooooooooood!:
