And yet he spent $130k on a car because it's quick in a quarter mile. So not quite the same as Warren Buffet or Sam Walton.

At some point pinching pennies instead of enjoying what you've worked hard to attain makes zero sense to me. YMMV.

Sam Walton is still driving an old pickup truck? That's quite a trick, since he has been dead since 1992.

Yeah, you're not quite a third of a century behind. I guess we can't expect more than that from you.

*daughter's

$150/month.

And still rent free. Your UD yellow pad lessons appear to be paying off.

I wouldn't have gotten to where I am if I wouldn't have saved on things that have no affect on life quality. It's the same ****ing gas. Why pay more? I don't save money on 2 things.. Cars and food as I enjoy a quick car and good food. On things that make zero difference to my life quality, I look for the best deal. I fly frontier, spirit and allegiant and use discounted hotels via Hotwire because those things make no difference to me.

Not really. I drive 10 mph over the speed limit. Not slowing down to gain range. Tickets here in FL for 15+ mph are $$$ and I had my share of those. So, 10 mph over it is.

I spend money on cars and food and safe on everything else.
Food and fast cars are the main things I enjoy.

Fwiw I finally rode in a Tesla last week. I think it was a Model 3, doesn’t really matter since it was a casual ride. The seats were surprising comfortable. And the cabin was quick to warm up in 30deg weather. I didn’t really notice much else.

Fascinating, I know.

Interesting snippet about towing with a Lightning from the EV nut huggers at Motor Trend.

Quote:
For me, a good camping weekend often means towing about 150 miles to the middle of nowhere, often over a steep mountain pass. And when it comes to this, the Lightning just can't cut it. Over 101.4 easy towing miles, the truck consumed 119.1 kWh of electricity (including powering the trailer and recharging via a generator), netting us 0.85 miles per kilowatt-hour (or 28.6 mpg-e) at a cost of $74.34. By contrast, our former F-150 Raptor with its high-output 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 would average 9.7 mpg towing the same trailer, using about 10 gallons of premium fuel at a cost of about $50 for the same trip. However, with 36 gallons on board, the Raptor could do up to 350 miles of towing before needing to stop.
