Key fob programming from auction
I am looking at getting a new key fob from an auction site. They sellers say that they need to be programmed by a dealer or a locksmith. There are instructions all over the web for DYI. What am I missing?
Thanks, Mike |

I think I figured it out
One vendor said the Corvette is the only car that can be self programmed.
Thanks, Mike |

They are easily programmable, in fact the procedure is listed in the owner's manual.
Just be sure you buy the correct one for your car, as there are four types: 1997-1999 2000 2001-2004 (numbered either 1 or 2 for memory feature). |

C-6 fobs are a little different,My dealer had problems and had to keep my car two days while the GM rep called to help.
