That's insanity in my opinion.

The most I have ever paid for a vehicle was about 30k. I can't see myself shelling out money like that for a depreciating "asset".

I'm driving my '14 Tacoma until the wheels fall off. **** it.

I paid just under 15k for my '05 Tundra 4x4 with 60k miles on it in 2016. Not only is it worth more than that today, with 82k miles on it, but it will still be on the road when the 90k Black Bomber in the first post is in the boneyard getting stripped for still-viable parts, if any. (Certainly not the transmission or engine!)
My '83 Toyota Hilux 4x4, with a 6 foot bed, cost me $2500 30+ years ago. Still my daily driver. And guess what? It's now worth over 6 times what I paid for it!

My '07 Tundra is just about to hit 296,000 miles, and everything still works perfectly...well except for the CD player...radio still works.
