Am on vacation this week in Scottsdale. First day here my brother and I are sitting poolside with a bucket of Modellos. Two women walk up and one says “Excuse me, can I ask you guys a question? I’m doing a bit of an informal survey thing.”

“Sure.”

“Have you ever heard the expression ‘horse of peace? Supposedly it means six of one, half dozen of another.”

We both assured her we had not. The other chick was protesting, saying it is a saying and very common. I said I loved it and was going to make it a thing.

We got to our room and I googled it. It is actually ‘horse apiece’, and is indeed a saying in like Minnesota and Wisconsin. So like yesterday we’d be playing golf and my brother would say ‘can’t decide if it’s a 6 or 7 iron.’ Horse of peace dude.

"A horse apiece" means, as you supposed, "more or less equal" or "six of one, half dozen of the other." Field researchers for The Dictionary of American Regional English (DARE) first heard "a horse apiece" in 1980, but the phrase is undoubtedly much older.

I think they meant "Whore for each". Your hearing must be going.

Are you sure of their intentions? This comes to mind!
Sorry, it's only a dream!
