Default Anyone watching the Ken Burns Vietnam Documentary?
Part one was on last night. It showed the history of the region and what led up to our involvement. Part two is tonight.

I thought it was pretty good and informative. There was much about the history of the conflict I was not aware of, such as the fact that Ho Chi Minh used over 70 different aliases in his lifetime.

Very good article here which praises Ken Burns' documentary skills, while taking issues with some of the conclusions drawn in the documentary.

I watched the first episode. My wife is Vietnamese and I have been able to talk to people who lived in Vietnam in the 40's, 50's, 60's, and 70's and they have told me what it was like during that time. in fact my wife's family moved from the North to the South in 54 and they are catholic. My wife's dad was in Arvin and rose to the rank of major. He was killed in battle in 66. My wife and her family was able to leave in 89 to come to this country.
