Weird thing about the old Deluxes is they don’t have a midrange control. Bass and treble only. So the mids are fixed. To manipulate it, you use the bass and treble knobs for example if you want to scoop the mids, you would turn up bass and treble together. If you want more mids, turn them down about the same. It’s sort of weird. But I have it set now with bass at around 3 and treble at 4 - so mids are heavier and the really high highs are not as piercing. I also find the tone knob on the guitar to be quite different than a standard tone knob. It actually boosts treble at the top and bass at the bottom. So if I roll it off just a tad, it really gets smooth. I usually never touch tone knobs on a guitar because it always makes it sound like a sock stuffed in a trumpet. Not on this thing. Crisp, crisp, crispy goodness. When I add the Ibanez tube screamer (I have a vintage one) it really starts getting interesting. I run at half gain. Then I have the gonzo distortion I can add on that and another clean boost on that. Then it sounds like Korn. |

Looks amazing Pete!
Wish I got to see it in person but the few days I was in TX the 2+ hr drive was just too tight man. One of these days... Scott

Man I wrecked that cheap case. It looks like it is 1000 years old. Oh well. It was fun trying. I’ll still use it amd suffer the teasing I am certain to get.

All it needs is some paisley accents to match the guitar. You have the talent and the materials in house.... get busy!
