This is what a real negotiator does. You never negotiate from a position of weakness and you absolutely never sit down when the deal has gone bad. You have to know when to get up from the table and say "Sorry this will not work for me" and walk away.

This is perfect. They release the hostages, blow up theirs test facilities, and blow the ability to not only get some food and probably protection for Kim, but instead get continued sanctions.

The only real problem is the constant over reaction to every nuance of something like this. We go from give Trump the Nobel prize to OMG we're gonna die in the space of a day. I'm beginning to believe it's all one big reality TV show and we're the contestants.

and with the deal not happening (for now) China is back on the sanctions as well and cannot sell anything to NK.

I give it a couple days and Kim will come begging for the meeting with Trump and forget all what China advised him to do.

Of course. It was delicious seeing all the usual suspects dancing around yesterday celebrating Trump "getting his ass handed to him." Also in the letter Trump spells Kim's name two different ways "Jong" and "Jung". In Korean slang, Jong means "a friend you deeply care about" whereas Jung means "slave". Trump was indicating that if he takes the offer to be Trump's friend, he will no longer have to be a slave to his handlers.
