Default Harley fever again

Haven't cared about them in 20 yrs., since selling mine...now getting the fever for one again.

Local - 2001 FXDWG, flawless, 12k miles for around $6300. Seems like a steal. 2 owner, new tires, HD service, etc...

A 6 over Sportster chopper got me fired up though. Just something to run around town on. I imagine Sporty's are cheap and hang a 6 over on the front and maybe hardtail convert the back. The one that fired me up was a '75 shovel customized like that. The bad thing to me was everything reversed - shifter moved to right side, kick start, chain drive, drum rear brake.

Maybe I will get over it before spending $$ for something just to sit around.

I owned a Sportster for a weekend once. Made $500.00 from the first guy to look at it, and all I did was wash the thing.

Rode for 50 years, I get that urge every now and then, but it goes away as quick as it appears.

My last sat in that garage for a year, drove it twice, that was 10 years ago. Sold it, bought a C3.

These old bones here, I'm afraid if I ever went down, there would most likely be no recovery.

Go for it, have some fun.

My last.

I went to Bike Week, rallies, etc...really enjoyed it. Parked mine and lost interest and sold it, too. I should probably just go rent one. What did yours sell for?

Soft tail, IIRC it was a 110 or 113 S&S evo motor. Very comfortable even with the 3-spring front end. Only problem is the points would burn out if they got wet, so I always had to carry an extra set.

I get the fever every spring. Sold my last street bike (Kawasaki LTD) sometime in '93. Kept a dirt bike until around '08.
