This was in a box of router bits/spade bits and planes. I cannot find a reference to this item and google has zitch.
The one angle edge seems to have an edge but no bevels.
There are 2 of them, any ideas?

i'd guess it belongs to a shaper (like a router, but bigger).

M-3 would be the steel type, non-carbide, so you can sharpen it as needed.

some shaper heads have 3 blades, others 2.

i don't know much, but this one i'm pretty sure about.

looks like it was a profile for some job, as the cut number is also on the steel.

that's the advantage of a shaper, you can order any profile you want, and this is often done to duplicate an old piece of work when doing restorations. you send them a piece you saved, they duplicate the cutter head to make that cut, and then either you, or a mill shop can run stock thru the shaper to make more stock for your job. like if you were restoring an old house and needed more door or window trim, or ceiling molding or some trim around a fireplace.

I'm no machinist but that looks like a lathe bit to me. I have seen very similar tools used on old timey brake lathes, and on machine lathes (possibly wood turning???) as well.
