Well let's see...I've been divorced three years and I'll give you my honest opinion.

I'd be very surprised if I got married again, for many reasons. First, I like the ability to come and go without answering to anyone and spend my income...THAT I EARNED...as I please. When I wanted my Vette, I called the dealer, wrote a check, and I was done. There was no negotiating with my spouse to "see if it was ok" to do this.

Over the last few years, I'm of the increasing opinion that most women are just plain nuts, materialistic or confused. I've been to more fecking "pity parties" than Dr. Phil and I don't want to deal with someone who can't make up their mind, can't find their own job, can't pay their bills, can't screw in a lightbulb, can't discipline their kids, can't keep their jackhole ex at bay and can't see that I'm not a mind reader.

Oh...and if I have to initiate sex more than 60% of the time, either you're frigid or I'm repulsive to you. Either way, we don't need to be in a marriage.

Some would call this selfishness but then again, I'm not forcing anyone to be with me, so it's really just a conscious choice I'm making.

Now all that said, I know there are great gals out there. Many of them are right here in the Barn. I do like companionship and sharing things and feelings with someone. Maybe "Ms. Right" will come along one day and I'll eat my words, but for now, I'll stay as I am.

In general, I think it was too much nose-to-the-grindstone type of stuff. Some women saw me as potential, some were just a bad call on my part to be in a relationship with, and I seriously effed up at least two relationships. Not too many options out there at this point, and all seem to involve mutually exclusive baggage.

I celebrate my divorce with more enthusiasm than my birthday.

Unlike others, I actually pay attention to my experiences and those of others. And at this point in life all that data collection has shown that marriage is the biggest mistake a man can make.

It also helps that I haven't found a woman w/low enough standards to want to marry me.

If I am going to do something that big... I am going to do it right, which means I am looking for perfection. I don't mean a woman who has no flaws. We all have some. I mean someone who is perfect for me. No compromises, no settling. So far I haven't found her.

If I do, wonderful. If I don't... I would rather be by myself than with the wrong person.
