Clear coat on wheels
I have 2 wheels losing their clear coat. Any thoughts on respraying them? Any pitfalls or suggestions?
Might use the same procedure to redo the 79's if they work on the 04.

I'd strip the clear completely, give them a good bare metal polish (you'll go WOW! after seeing the resuts compared to the cleared finish).
A bit more maintenance needed to keep them looking flawless, especially if they get wet a lot...but kept up, they wil look much better than any clearcoated finish. |

Yeah... that's been an annoying issue. We couldn't get GM to replace the wheels under warranty as they said it was normal wear/tear on the car.
You'll have to have the wheels stripped and re-cleared. Having them stripped and high-polished will make them look incredible, but they'll be harder to take care of.
