Anyone been watching this? I've seen all the episodes so far, Definitely some intense combat scenes but other than that...

Yep. I started a thread a couple of months ago when it started and haven't re-visited it. I am somewhat dissappointed but we were forewarned that it would be different than Band of Brothers. I liked BoB better but I love anything to do with WWII. My grandfather, during WWII, has been to several of the places these Marines have been and may have hauled some of these characters to their destinations. There was also some boobage which was a pleasant surprise. Leckie seems to be the only one that's gotten lucky so far.

Some serious nookie to open part 5 too.

I am disappointed in it overall so far. There is not a good sense of the passage of time. If they were stranded on Guadalcanal for months with no food or ammo you don't get the sense of desperation and length of the battles. There's a little messing around and then 5 minutes of intense combat and that's it. See you next week in Australia.

It feels very episodic. Some of it needs to stretch between parts

Not as good as I expected. I watched the trailer and it looked like it was going to be action packed. As stated earlier, 5 minutes of intense action and then not much. Also the night shots have been hard to see, but that might be that I have been taping each show and than watching it the next day. We are in the middle of a remodel and there are not window treatments up so that might have some bearing on the hard to see night shots.

It does have a bearing because I have a hard time seeing the night scenes as well because the lights are on in the living room. With the lights off, at night, I can see very well.

Other than the fact that they're both on TV, it doesn't.

BoB is one of the best programs ever made. The Pacific is a pale reflection.
