Frozen Pizza
I have decided that it's going to be a "Red Baron" supreme pizza for breakfast. Yeah, I have regular breakfast food here, but have a feeling this will be better. Just curious, what kind of frozen pizza do you guys buy?

I just tore that pizza up, and it was deeeeeelicious. My youngest son came in from Church, and killed the rest of it, and even though I had to talk him into some, he agreed, it was pretty dang good!

DiGiorno is the frozen pizza I would buy, IF I had to.
That said , frozen pizza taste like cardboard. I live in a city with many mom and pop pizza establishments, so I always buy from them. |

Table 87 Coal Oven Pizza from NYC. It sounds expensive, but one slice fills you up. The very best!

Frozen pizzas are all fairly similar.....skimpy on everything but the crust. Red Baron in particular just one day stopped putting anything on top of their crusts. I don't get them anymore. I like the take and bake pizzas from Aldi, and surprisingly, Wal Mart has some take and bake pizzas that are pretty decent....at least they top them with plenty of stuff.

recently we be going to Papa Murphy's pizze down the road about 3 miles, but this last go round was disappointing.....not worth the 25 bux with the 'sugar' pizza side dish.....16" on the main pizza, we cook it here in the oven for some 20 minits or so......
probably better off at WMart..... |

I like all kinds of pizza, really don'y have a go to brand. The last several years, have been participating in the grandkids school drive to generate charity funds, they've been pushing the Joe Corbi's Pizza Kits which includes the crust, sauce, pepperoni's and cheese. Not bad, doctor it up with mushrooms, green and black olives, etc. With a salad on the side, nice meal for the two of us.
$20 donation for a three pizza kit.

Red Baron or DiGiorno are decent. I actually like the ones my local grocery store makes. They are huge. I dress them up a bit with crushed pepper, more cheese, jalapenos, etc.

I'll occasionally do one. Albertson's brand "Signature Select" is better, IMO, than Freschetta (sp?) or DiGiroronoio (sp?).
For Pizza there is a Local joint here in the North SFV, Casa De Pizza, been there for 50+ years, family owned, it is really good food. Valley peeps check that place out, it's on Woodley and San Fernando Mission. It's fuggin GOOD. |

I'm not big on pizza, but we usually make one at the LivePD watch party I go to.
We take a Costco thin crust basic cheese pizza and add some 'healthier' toppings to it...it's the only way I'll eat it. I always keep on hand in the freezer a bunch of diced grilled chicken...basically, I marinate chicken breasts in balsamic vin/olive oil/italian herbs for ~24 hrs, then bake in oven at 400 for 45min-1hr (depends on amount/thickness), cool, and cut into pieces. I freeze 1 breast per Ziplok baggie, and just take out what I need each time. We preheat the oven and pizza stone, then add the toppings to the pizza before placing on the stone and baking: grilled chicken (takes 30 sec to defrost 1 baggie in microwave), 1 fresh diced tomato, fresh mozzarella ('perlini' size), and sweet basil. Bake as directed on box, but leave on the stone a few extra min after baking, then cut. Perfect crispy crust every time. I have a pic of it somewhere but hafta find it. It comes out pretty awesome |

Stopped buying frozen pizza when I rediscovered Pizza Pit, a small local chain that was a staple of my youth. I mean, it takes 30 mins to cook a frozen pie, takes 30 mins for Pizza Pit to drop off the best tasting pizza around, seems silly to to waste my time eating a crappy frozen pie.

i think my favorite frozen pizza when price isn't a consideration is the Screamin' Sicilian frozen pizza. i treated myself to one after Datawiz posted about them on here. Craig is right, they are great. However, normally i get a Jack's Supreme because they are about half the price when Walmart has them @ $2.48. |
