The Andromeda Galaxy is approaching the Milky Way at about 110 kilometres per second (68 miles per second). That's 2,145,872,736 miles per year. You can do the math... multiply that by 2.5 million years.
Guys that have done the math say we are in trouble in 4.5 billion years.

No. Galaxies interact regardless of expansion. Here's a cool image (not mine) of Galaxy M51 interaction/colliding with a smaller galaxy.
