They steal the shit out of those in Houston. I know someone whose Exploder was hit....in the county parking lot in front of one of the main Harris County buildings. You'd think they would have security there.

IIRC, thieves killed an off duty cop over a catalytic converter theft in progress. Probably the best way to handle it would be to quickly get in and drive off if you find someone under your car with a Sawzall. "Oh, sorry, didn't see you under there. Wait. You were doing what? Oh well, so sad."
