My C2 w Auto was a bolted crossmember. No difference between C2 and early C3 frames

In respect to the exhaust. Why is only one hole on this mount used? Attachment 70372

Methinks thems mufflerators might have been installed right for left and vicey versey, as in on the wrong side of the car so the mounts cannot line up. OOPS.
I also bet that system is 3 inch pipe... 2 1/2 is the largest which will fit through the factory frame.

Once I can get under the car better I will try to get pictures of how the exhaust is mounted. I really don’t want to pay a THIRD TIME time to have the damn exhaust done. This is getting to the point of absurdity. 😔
Find your rear lower panel and lay it in place... I bet the muffler outlets don't line up with the holes in the valance.

Pics of mine if that helps (exhaust tips went from round to rectangular in the ‘70 model)….

Your stainless outlets will be round for a ‘68 so I’m betting the valence panel has the half moon cutout more towards the outside of the panel exactly where the end of your muffler outlet is located (if that makes sense).

yes, you are correct. Missing the mounting hardware, but should be able to hold it up to see if things line up.

Things moving along.

Local insurance adjuster turned in his assessment and local shop put in estimate for work to get suspension/engine/brakes/exhaust/dash clusters back together.

Guess insurance can do things in parts. 1st check coming soon and then there will be supplements.

Local shop has a wait list, so for now the car sits in our garage and most of the parts in the trailer.

Step in the right direction.

Not terribly hard, but you need exact measurements or a template where to cut the holes. And it will need painted.

Lady finger is close but no paint needed the chrome will trim it out. Fiberglass does not rust but I would use a sealant.

That Zeek fellow could help with the holes.

Forgot about the trim rings.

Measure twice (or several times), cut once.

Holy crap.... he didn't listen to what you wanted a bit did he? Maybe that's why he didn't want me to see it last year.

Agreed, you need a template, and it will need to be repainted however the half moon cutout is in the valance panel and the fender.... see example below...
