Here are the hood shims, these shims are exactly the same as the one found under the car. But hood nor hinges were on the car at the time of transit.

The door to body hinges are already shimmed and painted, I assume the shims go on the body part of the door hinge and not the door end?

Of course every time I climb under the car I have more questions.
Hope you all are entertained by my ignorance. In respect to the exhaust. Why is only one hole on this mount used? |

Good question... May have just been a temp mounting to align everything. I see some protection between mount amd frame so would assume that. Once welded /clamped no reason both bolts wouldn't be used.

I agree. Just test fitting before final weld up.
Hood shims, door shims, etc...don't worry about them until you install the hood, doors, etc...then you will look at the panel gap and adjust if necessary. That is the correct placement for the door shims. You will just have to wait until you bolt everything up to see the alignment. But, I would go ahead and order extra shims in case they are needed. And you may want to consider that for other things with the cost of shipping. Check and see if the body mount bolts are tight or lose. Shims were used on all the body mount locations, too. |

Ok just saw your last post. Hood shims it is. They just had them laying some place and they wiggled out. Also some shims may be used in more than one location.

I know the exhaust was jacked by the guy that did it here in OK, the good guy (that was to do my exhaust install) was out with gout so the 1 day job turned into 10 days. Besides losing my original exhaust hangers the welds looked like something I would do. I knew DUB planed to fix that… but. I know on the original exhaust it traveled through the holes in the frame, now they don’t….
Pre restoration when we were cleaning the bottom of the car: Now, the exhaust is below the frame and there appears to be another set up, the exhaust seems to have wider diameter as well. |

So he said taking it to the “next” level had the frame powder coated. Stated it would help with rust long term as the interior of the frame would be treated as well. At one point he mentioned putting side pipes on the car and I said no, I don’t want side pipes! 68’s did not come with that stock to my knowledge. He was constantly going down rabbit holes. The car went out there for paint/body and carpet/center console installation. I have no Fing idea what all the things are he did to the car. He undid so many things I can’t even begin to determine where to start. |

Powder coating is certainly the "next level." Except for a true concours restoration show car it's not something I'd do. This photo doesn't look like powder coating to me:

Ah, okay. That white stuff in the pic looked like light scratches, which powder coating won't do. Pic you just posted does look like it's coated.
