Default Lib Teachers Gone Wild

I don't call them regressives for nothing... Yanked these details from an article on Michigan SAT test results.

2015-16: 34.9% college ready (60.2% in reading/writing, 36.8% in math)
2016-17: 34.9% college ready (60.3% in reading/writing, 36.8% in math)
2017-18: 34.6% college ready (57.8% in reading/writing, 36.9% in math)
2018-19: 33.9% college ready (55.3% in reading/writing, 36.3% in math)
2020-21: 32.6% college ready (56.6% in reading/writing, 34.5% in math)
2021-22: 28.1% college ready (51.6% in reading/writing, 30% in math)

Notice a trend? Only one in three are currently capable of reading, writing, and arithmetic. Within less than a decade of further regression it will be 1 in 5. Twenty years from now it should be single digits.

I think it'll bottom out eventually on a number who are willing to teach themselves. Couldn't even venture an educated guess as to what that might be however... Perhaps 10%?

Those are the others that get mad at Trump supporters on Facebook. One idiot to me the other day, "to wake up" I asked him if he had a job, but he never responded.

The primary function of schools is to be the #1 contributor for socialist pols.
Schools are a joke, they have no standards for performance, core testing is down every year and the competencies of those we graduate is far below many other countries that spend much less per student.

Charter Schools are the answer, check out this fine representation,https://princetoncharter.org/ , the local school board messed with the wrong dood, he bought a building 20 years ago, had two classrooms, today they have 18 and their test scores are always among the best in the state, they excel in math and core subjects.

I have interacted with the principal and teachers in the the public school system to confirm they are idiots, only care about the politics at their school, and ignore every parental request.

You know the old saying, if you are frustrated with the system, change the system, or leave, I recommend leaving, it will be much less stressful.

BTW, any time a teacher tells you that do not get paid enough, remind them they only work 180 days/year, about 7 hours/day, and pay nothing towards their benefits.
Divide $55K by 1,260 and the hourly is $44 PLUS ZERO BENEFITS CONTRIBUTION--most employees pay at least $500/month for this.
So now use $61K salary /1,260 hours and pay is $49/hour, I know nurses who have licenses for 30+ years and they only earn $42/hour, while paying 50% of their benefits.

Yeah, teachers, lazy and overpaid, and underperforming, and still bitching about pay,,,

Before kindergarten, I learned the alphabet from my parents and nursery school. I also had a wooden puzzle with all the states and their capitol's listed. So by kindergarten, I could name the states and their capitols. My brother and I were both reading in first grade, and reading books like Tom Sawyer and Moby Dick by third. Being literate is the gateway to a rich life, intellectually, and financially, IMO. Those who are illiterate tend to not succeed in anything but producing a lot of dependent children. 30 years ago, a good friend of mine had two small daughters who were 3 and 4, and they had the exact same puzzle I had as a kid. Now one is a nurse married to a doctor, and the other is a sports promoter earning 250k per year.

A familiar story. I learned more at home than I did at school regarding life and social skills. For actual education regarding math, English, History, etc. school was great because of the resources available. I don't recall any attempts at being indoctrinated, with the possible exception of being pushed aggressively to give to the Red Cross. I never really understood it, but it was a big deal. That and President Kennedy's fitness programs that we participated in during P.E. class.

I'd give a nickel in school just to get one of these...

Lack of parental teaching leads to nothing but ignorant children.
Wasn't hard to figure out how in elementary school (volunteered a shit ton) that had parents that taught them the basics and kept at it. Isn't a color thing as the media always reports, had way more white folks were bad parents in that aspect than any other color.
I was amazed at how badly some could read and speak even, some not being able to speak full sentences in any manner you could understand. Smart kids alot of them I'm sure but were destined for mediocrity at best. Parents that rely 100% on schools to teach their children are ignorant.
Case in point are my niece and nephew (wife's side). Girl is smart but they did absolutely nothing to help her until middle school which was too late. Parents always too busy and self absorbed to do anything for them. We were told early on we couldn't talk about our son's grades as made those 2 feel bad.
The nephew is dumb as a stump however any parental help would have meant twice as much for him. Instead they concentrated on sports alone. Hard to get into any college if you are damn near illiterate they found out. Sound familiar.... Whole sections of society concentrate on little Billy(or Susie) being the next Barry Sanders or Willy Mays.
Imagine if parents helped with schooling as much as sports, frankly sports shouldn't be offered at schools at this point. Just setting the kids up for failure in the long run IMO. People are playing the lottery (for sports contract) with their children's future... And lose 99% of the time.
We all had dumbass jocks in high school, hell the qb was my neighbor literally and he could hardly read or write. I kept him on the team and made good money. He did exactly dick after HS but boy his parents were proud as peacocks he could throw a ball.
I love sports and encouraged my son to participate but it never got in way of schooling or sports stopped.
