Movie goers opinion...3D, IMAX, D-BOX..cool or stupid gimmick

Ok. It was pretty damn awesome. Im actually glad I saw The Avengers in 3D. I only pulled the glasses off a few times during dialogue portions of the movie.

I dont know if the seats were worth it. Neat experience but probably not worth the extra 6 bucks or whatever. I am glad I tried it.

I was comfortable, but the d-box seats dont recline like regular seats so I found myself moving around a lot. She was doing the same as the seats are taller than standard and her feet couldn't touch the ground, if you are under 5'5" or so don't plan on being able to do so. 2 hrs was long enough.

We already discussed our future viewing of Dark Knight Rises. 3D, IMAX,...no d-box seats.

It can also make a big difference if the film was shot in 3D, or converted to 3D in post production. IIRC, the Transformers films were post-converted, as were both Clash Of The Titans films, possibly the worst 3D films made to date.

If the film was post-converted and is offered in 2D... see the 2D.

I agree. This ruined the first Clash of the Titans for me.

Third time seeing it and I think the scene after the credits is such a great way to end, sends you out of the theater thinking... "Yeah... good idea... let's go eat."

I have seen exactly 1 movie in 3D and that was the Avengers just a few days ago.

I thought it made some pretty cool additions (especially the extended back views of Scarlett Johansson) but I feel like the 2D would have been just as good.

I'm not about to go running out to spend money on a 3D home setup.

I loved it because it really makes them feel like normal people. Who hasn't gone through something huge and then sat around with a sandwich and the thousand yard stares?
