We got good news today with the 8.8% unemployment rate.

That down a full point since we were at 9.85 last November.

We can now safely say we are past the peak and into the downturn.

IF we have no hiccups, the unemployment rate COULD be down to around 7.5% by the time the election rolls around in November 2012.

Low enough for Obama to sell his presidency, yet still high enough for his challenger to sell a new administration as being the best option.

Going to be interesting.

Hitting 7.5% at least is KEY for Obama. He inherited 7.6. If the Republican challenger can hammer him on unemployment being higher than when he took office STILL during the 2012 campaign, Obama is toast.

Thanks for the contribution.

However, the man has no expertise. He is an author of FICTION.

That probably explains why the article has such a childish tone and is characterized by no data but plenty of naked assertions.

p.s., the effect of the Bush capital gains tax cuts on corporate tax revenue:

electronics and computers have fueled the last two growth cycles, over the last ~30 years total....

the housing gig was .gov engineered and so obviously failed....

corporations have a MUCH easier time shipping profits/income/expenses around to shelter income from taxes....computers...this ain't the 40's anymore....

we simple do not have the control as a nation, as does ANY nation...over giant corporations....

except to run them outta the country with too much regulations....

like EPA/etc.....

you want jobs?? without inflation that is going to slam shit outta us in a few months?? cancel EPA allow manufacturing, drilling, nuclear, and abandon that silly ethanol fuel program....screw ADM/etc.....

And they fail to recognize that during Truman and Eisenhower the rest of the world was a smoldering ruin.

By the time Kennedy came into office the economy was stagnant. After he lowered the tax rates the 60-'s exploded in GDP growth and job creation.

What you and the rest of the left forget is no matter how high you raise the tax rates once you start collecting more than 18% of GDP it peters out. The rich move assets overseas and the middle class incomes go down so they pay less in actual taxes.

What is interesting is that once Russia removed their old tax system and changed to a flat tax their tax receipts went up. After research they found that the number one reason for the tax receipts going up was it was cheaper to pay the lower taxes than trying to avoid them.

You forget that even with the Bush tax cuts we are still one of the highest taxed nations. And Yes Jobs are going to keep going oversea. Add Obama care to the long list of reason to drive jobs out of this country.

if they were CHEATING, they would be punished.

There is a very big difference between tax EVASION and tax AVOIDANCE. Avoidance is legal, EVASION is not.

Just ask The Kenedys, Boxer, Pelosi, Franks Kerry and Rangle.

Opps Rangle broke the law and got a slap on the wrist.
