It says upper income level along with 18% of others for my area. I kept adjusting the income level to see at what level it changed here. I dropped our income level by $60k before it dropped us down to the middle income level.

I sure don't feel upper income level.

It gave $46K - $136K as "Middle" for my area with two people in the household. It would be pretty tough to own a home around here on $46K of income IMO, but I pretty much agree with the top if it is just two of you. If you are trying to put a few kids to college, it's not that fat of an income though.

My plan when I retire is to not owe anyone any money. That way I only have to pay basic monthly expenses and not draw to pay for a mortgage or anything. I also have both a traditional and a Roth 401k. When I start getting too close to the next tax bracket I'd draw from the Roth since it's already been taxed and keep myself out of the next bracket. Of course we'll have both our military retirements and both our SS checks which is going to keep us in a higher tax bracket. I'd just like to stay in the lowest one possible.

Upper percentage. I mean poor here. Not so sure either. Only took a 10K drop to put me in the middle??? Not much room for error This year I may be back to middle

Our state is $33k-$99k for middle with 2 people. You can't send a kid to college at that lower level.

We live in a upper middle class neighborhood, and I would bet that based on household income, we're at the bottom of our circle of friends.

I often wonder if we're too conservative with our money.
I have a hard time striking a balance between saving for the future and living for today.

Our total income is $67,400.00 and for here in Montgomery, Alabama it shows us as middle income.

Long retired and we are on pensions, SS and profits from my portifilo, it puts us square in Middle Middle class. Not bad for a blue collar union pipefitter/welder and a wife that first started out at entry level working for the state and left as a Department manager!

Made it a point when we retired to have no mortgage and built a new paid for house at the lake.

My mortgage was paid last month. The truck will be done shortly. I've still got a few years to work. I'll be 58 this month. It feels liberating to not have that mortgage payment. I still feel like I have to keep socking away money though.
