I got some explanation that wreaked of bias and laziness from Savewave (pretty sure it was him) one year when I wanted to do something for the Shriners. I then explained why I would no longer donate to St. Jude through CF because of that.

It had to do something with either him or Troy having been helped by St. Judes and the forum wanted to deal with only one charity.

Guess what, St. Judes is still short a couple of donations because I still sent my $$$ where I wanted it.

St. Judes is Jesse's charity of choice. Once Jesse became an administrator, St. Judes was the only one he would allow. He essentially told NCM to **** off, thus putting an end to Cruise In.

I remember a little something about that, but had no idea that's how CI died.

I have asked him to make it a sticky like the good people here do and they refused unless it was 30 days or less till the event.....I have said something about St. Judes and I also do not donate to them through them for that reason.....some people let power go to their heads and don't think before they act/say something.

So if I read correctly, they sacrificed donations to St Jude's because of the request to also donate to other causes.

Two charities could have benefited, and now the one they didn't want, is the sole benefactor of their actions. Brilliant move.

people get weird about charity work, not realizing that some of us like to spread the money around. this year alone I have given money to 2 hospitals, a fund which is being used to change custody laws when there is an abusive parent (because a friend lost her niece from an abusive father who killed his child then himself), make a wish, st jude, and personal stuff like adopt a family.
my opinion is this: so long as competing charities don't get pushy, collect all you want. let people choose.

p.s., weird day today. with the ban in effect, I actually got dressed and went to two meetings instead of working from home.

This ban could be the best thing that ever happened to your career.

you're single so good to go. My wife told me "under no circumstances are you to retire and think you're going to be home all the time".

When Kathy tells me I need to retire I remind her I won't get a paycheck. She then says "Oh yeah, keep working."
