Watched it last night, I liked it mainly because my dad was on a Fletcher Class Destroyer in WWII that was sunk by the Japs. Not a huge fan of Tom Hanks but was able to look past that because of things my dad had told me.....I know in this film it was the Krauts.

I know it was only a movie with tons of CGI but it really hit home with me realizing how scared my dad and the other sailors must have been when engaged with the enemy He told me he was below deck when the bomb hit and when he ran up to the deck there was a very dead mutilated sailor there and he was able to get the life jacket off of his body before jumping overboard.

I watched it, and while Hanks is a good actor, I just couldn't get into the film. I thought it was missing something, as of some of the scenes were cut. Disjointed. Maybe I'll watch it again.
