Wife and I are in Laughlin, NV
We are celebrating our 30 wedding anniversary here in Laughlin Nevada. Drove the 96 vette here and used only 1/4 of a tank of gas. 250 miles. Average speed was between 70-80. Hardly any traffic Fun drive. In some places, you could have gone over 100 because there was nobody on the road. We plan to leave on Wednesday.

Congrats Charlie. We did our 25th this year. It's kinda like the C4, sometimes she really makes ya mad, but you've had a lot of good times. Especially when she was new, tight and responded exactly like you expected her to.

Thanks guys. Nope I have not seen that cruising here. It's actually pretty dead here. So different compared to Vegas. At 10pm, streets are quite. Not having a lot of luck gambling. Bought some decent shirts and a couple of hats though.

I prefer Laughlin to Las Vegas. When I used to have a jet ski, my brother and his friends used to gather up everything we owned that had an engine and would float and head up there from Sunday to Wednesday.
Those are the days they used to sell rooms for $25 a night- which was way more convenient than camping- plus some of the casinos have boat ramps on their property. Probably too cold to rent a ski, but you can navigate 40 miles down the river to Lake Havasu and back up again if you are feeling froggy. |

I had a buddy that lived in Bullhead City. Jet skis on the river was a blast. And yes, rooms are very cheap there as well.

Back home. Arrived about 3:00pm. Traffic was a lot different than on Sunday when we left, especially on Interstate 40 and the 10. I hate it when idiots drive in the fast lane going less than the speed limit, or the idiot guy driving a u-haul van in the fast lane going 75+. Yeah that is really safe alright.
When I was filling up at the Chevron in Laughlin, a Nevada highway patrol officer came over to look at my vette. He wanted to know if I was selling it LOL. He's only looking for a C4 model. He gave me his business card with his cell phone number and email if I decided to change my mind. No luck winning the big one. One item of disappointment was Roulette. It's a $1 minimum bet, but you have to use 5 chips. What kind of screwy information is this? Reminds me of the new homes for sale signs - "Below $200k" or in other words, $199k. Black Jack is another one. Minimum is $5. What happened to the good old days of playing for $1? Not too many folks on the card tables. Most were on the electronic machines. I mainly played Keno and hit a few small pots, but nothing big. Oh well, it was fun and the weather was perfect. |

Today is a bad day for driving anywhere on the country. I was at the VA hospital today, and it was bumper-to-bumper, and normally there is no traffic. I've never been to an airport on Thanksgiving holiday weekend, but I've heard is the busiest of the year. Damn not even Laughling have the $1 tables? I was in Las Vegas last month and the cheapest I found was also $5. |

Sounds like a fun trip. I've never been to Vegas but the indian casinos here charge for every hand a black jack. You can still play a buck but you have to pay the dealer for every hand win or lose.

I think that is why not so many folks are on the tables. I use to enjoy just sitting there, having a few drinks, relaxing, and playing for hours at $1/bet. The minimum now is $5.
