Well I think I fixed it!!!! On its own it returns back to zero so I guess thats good! Im not too sure why or how it was getting hung up in the first place but its no problem any longer!!!

Next... The fix for not opening full throttle.

I think this was 1/8th inch round bar! Had some at the house already.

Cut one of the bends out!

Then I flattend the top side of the bar with a die grinder (the top part of the bar that the cable will eventually be riding on.

Slide it into the cam! A dab of glue on the inside of the round bar to ensure it doesnt come out! And VWAUUU LAAA! Opens full throttle!

I can't really see the your added piece in the cam but I'm assuming you put it in the cam where the FSM says to put the 1/8" drill bit during the cable adjustment. Will this disable the traction control?

NO NO NO! the reason why I used the curved piece of bar is because I slid it inside the groove of the cam that the cable rides in thus acting like a larger lever.

Let me see if I can get my real camera to work and I will take a better picture.

That's OK I think I understand now. I saw a thread where a guy put a couple small screws in the cam making the diameter of the cam larger so to speak.

Personaly its better then having to pull the whole thing apart.... drilling holes and then having to put it all together. Prob took me about 30 mins from trning the lights on in the garage and turning my CD player on to closing the hood!

Now I just have to go for a little test drive! You said when its warm the throttle blades stick open a little bit? Ill have to test that theory. Because yesterday it was about 85* when it was hanging open. and this morning when I was playing with it, it was only about 65*... So maybe that has to do with why it cured itself!?

OH Hell yeah, As soon as I looked at the new TPS I new the other 2 were toast. I put it on and set my idle at about 650 no problem and got .68 volts which may be high, but I think the 93 will adjust for it. Either way the test drive was sweet. I never was able to get much tire spin before with my old engine even though it didn't have bad rwhp (259) and even better torque (305). This time it almost got side ways. Oh yeah the rest of my idiot lights went out. I haven't checked for codes yet but I'm betting there aren't any. This is with the 58 TB back on. Anyone looking for a Holley 52 mm?

And the best part,,,,I still need to have the final tune done. I positive he will squeeze out a few more hp.

Congrats man! Thats great!!!! I wish I could say the same for myself...... Now I have an issue thats really stumping me.

Car off! The throttle system works PERFECTLY!

The car on and running.... Im getting that hanging up issue again where the butterflies wont close all the way!!!!!!!!.... This HAS to do something with the air passing by the blades of something... The only variable that changed was air movement. Im going to take the intake snorkle off now and see if I can visibly see whats going on!? Because it idles great and smooth.... The only way I can get it to close while operating from the inside of the car is to slap the throttle and let momentum and spring pressure I guess cause the blades to close... But a gradual release of the throttle it will stay open.... ARGGGGGGHHH!!!!

With mine I got the impression it was the heat that maybe expanded the blades just enough to hang up. I'm not sure if it did any good but I took some 400 grit and laid it inside the throat of each side with the butterfly open. Then I just opened and close it a bunch of time where the pressure would sand the butterflies. I did this while it was off the car. Like I said I don't know if it did any good or not but it doesn't seem to be hanging up now. Mine also doesn't appear to have the problem of not getting to WOT like you had. I wonder why one would and the next wouldn't. With the Holley I think it was the spring pressure.

I just cant understand why it works fine with the car off and then starts to act up with its running.... Its mechanical not electrical! HAHA! Usually that type of stuff happens with electrical components!

Im going to have to cure this fast because I have a car show that I REALLY REALLY want to make next weekend.... Might have to put the stock TB on just to get there... BLAH!

Well my celebration didn't last long either. While doing research about the idle problem I noticed a pic of another engine. This one had a plate holding the cam in place. I reeeeally don't remember putting in such a plate.

Good news, I think. I found an old email where I was buying the part in question above. I do remember it now.

Damn, it's hell getting old, lol. Or maybe it has something to do with those 80's sweets was teasing me about.

Now my ASR seems to be kicking in too easily. If I want to drive spirited at all it shuts me down so I have to turn it off. At this point I'm thinking it just doesn't like the added hp.

Anybody have an thoughts or experience with this issue? Is there a way to adjust it? Does anyone have a link or info as to how the ASR works?

Well I did get some progress on the C4 today but unfortunately I'm back were I was. I have discovered an intake/fuel issue of split BLM's. I did have my idle set screw holding my TB blades open on idle which was not allowing the IAC to work properly. You can check out my last post in my thread in the Scan and Tune section to get the longer version. I discovered some things wrong and fixed them but at the end of the day I still have the split BLMs.

That sucks big time, but it's still progress. Problem is all this rich running is surely taking it's toll and I feel the heads are getting carboned up now.

Do you have a tuner that can help. Maybe a vaccum leak?

The guy that was doing the tune moved back to San Antonio. He is still in touch but not much help in trouble shooting. I'm going to change the plugs next, then maybe the wires and will be looking for intake leaks the whole time. After that is the injectors. Everything is new except the plugs and they only have maybe 1000 miles at the most.
