Foot is good, all healed up, and the old boy is doing well. He strained his foot walking about a mile a week ago in the freezing cold, but IF I can walk that far at 91 I'll be very lucky. The girls at the hospital told him he didn't look much older than 70!......that made his day.

hate wasting money.

bought a set of pewter grips for my 1911 off Amazon.

got them yesterday, and find the following: grips screws won't sit flush, had to counterbore the holes more so they would sit flush; a bit of casting flash interfered with the magazine release, had to grind that off with a dremel; and the grips are a bit wider than stock, thus preventing the disengagement of the thumb safety. sigh.....back to stock grips for now.

touchy, touchy, touchy....so i'm cruising another gun related forum, wander thru the want to buy section, see one where the dude is looking to buy old silver coins, something i know a little about. i find a link to a commercial place selling such stuff, and the going price is about 15x face value (so a $10 roll of old silver quarters would be going for about $150), and this guy is offering to buy up old silver coins at 10X face value. so i comment on this and provide a link.

i was as bad boy, i didn't read the rules - not supposed to comment in 'want to buy' threads. even got a PM from some bored mod.

the more rules a place has, the less fun and interesting it is.

It's been the longest coldest winter in 20 years they say. High snow banks on the sides of streets and driveways, and city budgets are tapped. Damn cold for this time of year.....-25C at night, -14C daytime.....and it's almost MARCH!

At least we have Ford and Beiber hijinks for entertainment!

....could be worse though, could be in Minnesota!!! YIKES!
