Went out for a rainy run in the Z06 this afternoon. Lotsa fun but the partition that seals off the trunk fell out of place and I didn't want to get wet screwing with that so I ignored it. Few minutes later I thought I caught a glimpse of headlights on my ass but nobody's there. Turned my head around and there in the trunk are two big ass lights (about where the taillights are) pointed in toward the passenger compartment that are always on. Makes sense to see what you're doing if the trunk lid is open, but always on? WTF? I had to own the car for almost twenty years to discover that? Never seen them before

Excuse me, I need to go bang my head against a brick wall now.

WTF would they be on constant? Sounds like maybe the switch for them is faulty. Probably haven't been like that for 20 years!

Yeah, it's distracting. Drove for a few months before installing the partition so I should have noticed it before. Will investigate further but the lid is definitely shut tight.

I assume this is a C5. Those lights are supposed to turn off. There is something wrong with your car. I hope that picture isn't your lights you actually cut out of the car.

That's just a google pixz I tossed in to give people an idea of what was burning the back of my neck. Could use those things for headlights in a pinch

Maybe one of the hookers you stashed back there wasn't actually dead, and she turned the lights on to try and get attention from the cops?

Just went out to the garage and the issue is resolved. Took me a fraction of a second to see the map reading light in the mirror was on. This also activates the lights in the trunk (unbeknownst to me). Didn't see it on earlier because of daylight. Would never have guessed that switch also operates the light in the trunk... What will they think of next
