I think it looks cool. I don't own one, but if I found one at the bottom of the lake, I'd treasure it.
I'd consier the Sig P320 also. My buddy carries one and the trigger is a dream on it. If I wasn't a Ruger guy, I'd get the Sig. |

My wife has an M&P Shield in 9mm. I have the same thing in .40 cal.
We both like them. Presents to ourselves when we both got our CCLs. Only complaint is that both have extremely stiff springs in the magazines. Difficult to load to full capacity with a loader. |

I don't normally tell people what gun to buy, but the 320 is accurate and shoots like a dream. The recoil is light, depending on the bullet weight, but it shoots 147gr. bullets with a VERY manageable recoil as well. It's platform is also interchangeable, which I like. You can buy the kit to make it a compact, subcomact, or full size w/o having to deal with an FFL. (the mech is interchangable and is what the serial number is on). You can also buy kits to make it .357 or .45. THe kits are a bit pricey, but like I said, no FFL is involved once you have the original weapon. I'd offer the guy $375.00 and see what he says. You can't get that gun for $400.00. That's a really good deal, depending on it's condition. |

just saw a video a few days ago, Max Michel, Sig factory shooter, set a world record by drawing and firing 6 shots, dropping 6 steel plates at 7 meters, in 2.05 seconds, shooting a Sig P320 with a red dot sight.
i can't shoot that fast. but if you can, a Sig will keep up. |

I have one, handles and shoots well, in my armory now, just a tad too heavy for side carry for me, replaced it with the Ruger LC9.

I carry the M&P 40 at work, and also own one. Never had any issues with it.
That said, I have an Astra A100 9mm, that can shoot circles around the .40. |

I would also consider the Walther PPS M2. I got to try one out last weekend. I will be getting one for myself.

My son just bought, and then tragically lost in a boating accident, a full size M&P 9. Had a chance to shoot it today just before he went boating. He likes it. I liked shooting it. Seems like a pretty nice gun, but it floats like shit

I had both, the M&P and the M&P compact, both 9mm. They come with 3 different grip insterts to tailor it to your hand. I liked them way more than the Glock19 they replaced, but ended up trading them both as I really never carried either of them. I am looking at a 380 S&W bodyguard right now.
