Call me an old goat, but nothing beats American's on an old 'vette. Especially when they are the right diameter, as yours are!! Beautiful car, and glad to see you here.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the kind words, Jeff. The ARs have only been on the car for about a month. The car had bolt-ons when I bought it back in '19, and I've just never been able to generate any enthusiasm for that look. So I yanked them in favor of these, and I won't be looking back. Growing up in the '60s and '70s as I did, Corvettes and muscle cars have always looked right to me when they're sporting five-spoke wheels of one flavor or another.
I'll attach before, during and after transition photos. Much of my misspent youth transpired at the wheel of a '65 GTO convertible, so I guess maybe that makes me an old goat, too. Loved that car, and miss it to this day, but the road salt ate it alive, and back then it was cost-prohibitive to restore, so I let it go. Live well, SJW |

Very nice! Got more photos?
These antiques are perpetual works in progress. Are they ever really done? And even if they are, we all know it doesn't last long. Live well, SJW |

Well shucks if you insist. 😂 The only thing I like better than driving them is showing them off and talking about them.

Front disc conversion was the worst mistake I have made on this car. It's still not right. I think I have it narrowed down to a restricted brake line, and I have the replacement hanging in my garage. This fall when it cools down I will have to get the motivation to replace it.
Interior is all driver condition and could use freshened up at some point, but it's a fun ice cream getter. |

On other forums I get flack all the time when I tell people to leave their drum brakes alone. Drums work just fine on a street car. The issue is that the quality of the mounting hardware on the aftermarket kits fails and there are problems many times. The conversion with factory parts usually works, but at the age of these cars, not a really common cure these days. I've gone through this with everything from Model T Fords to newer 4x4's....the cars that break down on the tour or cruise are always the 'upgraded' ones, almost never the 'stock' ones.
