I'm still angry about his "out of line" comments about John McCain being captured and held as a POW in Vietnam, while Trump sat fat, dumb and happy on his draft deferments. He very nearly lost my vote over that, but at least he's not a gun grabber...

I can see this going the other way just as easily.

The people who sit ignorant on their couches blaming guns rather than the person are already voting for hillary. On the other hand, I have seen a whole lot of people who are usually quiet standing up and saying "F**k you... you aren't taking my guns away". I had 2 non-gun owners at work ask me for advice on what to do and what to buy to protect themselves.

Of course if we have learned anything over the last year, it's that nothing about this election is predictable.

...and FWIW, I'm planning on taking both of my co-workers to the range next week.

Once the data leaked out that Hillary's State Department decided to not do anything to this shooter... both times he was under review... I'm hearing people saying they're finally Fed-Up with the democrat party alltogether.

I'll go ahead and say it.. Trump has gone off the reservation a bit, and the more he talks, the more he puts his foot in his mouth. He needed to shut the F up months ago. He's no longer helping our cause. Not that I'm voting for Hillary, but Trump isn't anyone I'd normally vote for either.

I tend to agree with you. It's not for Trump to define who acted with valor and who didn't and certainly that is one of many comments his campaign could have done without. That said, I also think that the term "hero" is thrown around far too often and in many cases, undeservedly so. I'm glad we've learned our lesson from Vietnam and we're not shitting on our veterans anymore. But I also think we've kinda gone overboard with the parades, induction ceremonies at ballgames, camo uniforms and various other forms of what is considered "Military Cause Marketing."

Ask any WWII veteran if they consider themselves a hero and you'll get a unqualified "No!" as a response. The people they consider heroes are the ones that never came home.

I tend to agree with you. It's not for Trump to define who acted with valor and who didn't and certainly that is one of many comments his campaign could have done without. AND they all got jobs, largely resupplying the shortages from cars to food on the consumer/civilian side, and those HUGE factories that makes the products today seem very small....were for making TANKS, aircraft/etc.....
