Tell your Docs you want a Med-Port put in prior to Chemo treatments. It will save a lot of veins.

Been away from online a number of days. Take an Uber to a weekly blood draw/ dressing change on my Picc Line and last ride was a pretty nice new F-250. But I'm in such week shape that stepping down out of it tore a bunch of muscles in my butt and reinjured my lower back's existing BS from other car wrecks. Cold barely breathe it hurt so bad!

Have the Picc Line a couple more weeks untila Port gets put in, probably doing feeding tubes also. This morning's endoscopy says the espohgus is blocked off completly. I still get some food down, but need better nutrition to be abe to fight this mess.

All this is taking a toll on my poor Wife, that worries memore than my own health. I amconcerned that it's taking way too long to get actual treatment going. They had to knock out a major blood infection, but I have two other friends who got diagnosed with cancer only a month ago and they are already doing chemo....

...back to trying to orgnize the never ending hurricane of paperwork and mail from this.

So very, very sorry CT.

I found out in 2020 I had stage 3/4 Lymphoma and Leukemia. 6 months of chemo and I'm still in remission on the Lymphoma and holding my breath. Nothing can be done for Leukemia and I was told I could live forever without it affecting me....but still scary.

I know I'm living on borrowed time on both, but I plan on living to the fullest.

Hang in there brother, cancer is a very weird reality to experience. I don't wish it on anyone.

Oh wow. That’s terrible. Does your cancer treatment center have volunteers to help with transportation?

Cancer center isn't so bad. Only about 3 miles away, so even Uber is cheap enough. Office doing weekly dressing change on Picc line is 20 miles away in downtown Orlando. Insurance covers the Uber for that.

That's my issue for now....when the F do we start treating this all? Each doctor seems fine, but terrible communication between offices of different doctors....

I've been using the feeding tube (or gastro tube) since May.

Nutren 1.5 - 7 containers a day. I started at 6 containers but was losing weight, so they upped me to 7. Also take Pro-Source for additional protein.

a combination of the Pro-Source and the Nutren 1.5 unflavored actually leaves a bad taste in your mouth hours later. I've been wanting to add chocolate syrup to it

And don't waste time feeding yourself with the gravity one or a pump.
Get a bunch of 60ml syringes and feed yourself.
Way more efficient!! I can feed myself in 10 minutes and luckily no discomfort.
And I also put two cups of cool coffee in me daily, also with the syringes.

I was also malnourished when I initially went in for diagnosis.

You will miss eating and drinking - as I said earlier - TV commercials are brutal.
Everything looks so delicious and you miss eating so much.

Hang in there!
Keep fighting!!

I'm 3 weeks into chemo and radiation

Good to know these details on everything, including the much feared feeding tubes.Today's appointment gave me much needed clarity and direction. I met the radiologist who will be doing the treatments. He was an MIT level engineer before becoming a doctor. To say he answered all my questions was an understatement. He not only told me how the process works, he explained why they had the machine they did, how there aren't any others in Florida and how it worked...right down to drawing and theroy of operation of the machine. Then he sent me to get measured for the treatnments and went to work with the chemo portion of treatment. I might be getting the radiology part first for a few reasons.

Imagine the TV show charachter of Sheldon Cooper from "Big Bang Theroy" but with actual social skills at about 70 and you have a picture of this doctor. He asked about myself, and then jumpred right into explanations tailored to my word of understanding. So Friday I get "Chemo Training" and by then hope to know other schedules too. Still waiting on a Port and feeding tube surgeon, but expect their call tomorrow (as I threatened to go sit in theeir waiting room until I get an apponitment....).

For me, knwoing the dynamics of what the machine is able to do allows me to relax some. The machine is amazing, I want to get a repair manual to read to see how the thing works for myself...

I hate Cancer too...My girlfriend past away during the Fake Flu because nobody wanted to see her...denied by many insurance companies for advanced Cancer. She worked for United Airlines/Continental Airlines for 24 years and gave her all to those companies ....In the end...they shit on her. I will never trust any of those ****ing companies with my life again be it on their planes or in the workforce.

OP, question?
Did you have a serious gerd or esophageal injury? I’m being told these things are a very slow developmental process and I too worry about a bad prognosis from an up coming endoscopy….
