It's a Conspiracy!
With all the technology available today what is the hold up on a head unit with a hard drive??? Yeah it's super neat that you can hook your $400 ipod up and all that but what if you're not an ipod person? There is no way that I am the only person who wants to load all their music and videos directly to a head unit and not have to plug in a thumb drive or an ipod. It's got to be some conspiracy I tell ya.
And sure you can go the mobile PC route like GB, which is awesome by the way but space is at a premium with my C5 and I already want to put in an amp, sub and a nitrous bottle... Not really room for all of those as it is.

the DD Avic f90BT in my truck has a SD card reader and a usb hook up... ive read of some hooking up a mini hard drive to it and woking but the problem is getting the required power for the HD... i believe Pioneer makes some DD w/ HD built in... there out there... not sure if its only for DD radios though...

I've got a 40 GB hard drive factory stock in mine with a USB hook up and an Ipod hook up.
Too bad Chevy can't upgrade the Corvette to be like the Caddy, even the Nav blows away the Vette. |

The only problem with a HD setup is you still have to load it which involves connecting a laptop of a thumb drive. I've got both an Ipod and a 32 gig thumb drive on my. I unplug the drive, take it inside, load it up and plug it back in the car - no problems.
