That is so cool, I love trains.

When looking for our retirement home from MD to DE, I even considered buying a house close to an active rail, however, the ones that were available were just not quite up to my......shall we say, upper liking........

I am about 3 miles from the closest rail, and on a calm night, I can hear the faint blast of the air horn, sounds sweet.

CN has been answered. As to the green question, that is one of our locomotives that emits the least pollutants per HP of any locomotive currently available for sale on the planet. The current EPA standard is Tier 4. That locomotive meers the proposed standards for Tier 5 on 3 of 4 of the measured pollutants and we can meet the 4th with one more addition.

Strong selling point

At work, one of the parts I make is a spun two piece stainless steel dome that is used as a type of catalytic converter for diesel engines. It's about 15" in diameter

Rumor has it we are about to get new (to us I am guessing) passenger cars for the train I ride daily. The ones we have now are ~50 years old and from Chicago. They are rusting pretty bad and make lots of strange popping noises underneath the cars when moving.

Unlike freight cars locomotives are hard to track through the railroad network, so we put a solar powered GPS on each one as it is shipping to track it.
