Patty has grown a massive set of balls and is not taking any shit from these clowns. I suspect the end product will be just fine, and I'm sure I'm going to get raped on up charges for wood, but the quality of their work without supervision has been a nightmare. Thank GOD she could take the time to babysit these clowns.
Props to your wife.
I've supervised many construction jobs and it was never easy to keep em in line.

They must have been. We had a whole new crew yesterday and Patty was excited. They actually knew what they were doing. I'm home now, but off to racquetball in a few, but I get to watch these clowns work today. Patty, and her brother bob saved this job because the baby sat it. Saleshole was onsite all day both of the last 2 days.

I remember when I had my kitchen installed. It took a lot longer than they thought it would when they gave me a price. If they tried to raise the price when the job was done (they didn't), I was going to give them a bill for my services as project manager.

It was an inconvenience at the time, but the finished project was excellent and has been trouble free.

Day 6 of the tear off and underlayment. I've been here all day, and at the end of the day this will be a quality job. I cannot believe how much of the fascia we've replaced, but it's worth doing it right now. They planned on 2-3 days for the dry in.

No kidding. A 5,800 sf footprint is a LOT of tile.

Dry in is done. Good thing, we're expected to get a ton of rain tonight.

What is that mounted on the side of your house in the first picture? Retractable awning?

It’s hard to tell from the photos, is that a self sealing membrane or more of a roll asphalt product

Rollup storm shutter hidden by awnings.

Yes, it's a self sealing underlayment for tile roofs. 1st one on the link below.

And....they failed the inspection.

Not horribly, but all of the bitching we did about the underlayment not sticking to the drip edge they have to fix. Few other issues with flashing. All the more reason we'll be holding back a larger chunk from the next draw they are wanting.
