i saw a show about Norm Abram (new yankee workshop) long ago, and he started as a carpenter fixing a house that they were filming. he was good on camera, but most importantly, the producer noticed that Norm had the smallest scrap pile. he optimized what he had as much as possible.

new guys? not so much. ain't their money, they don't care.

These tiles are concrete. They "supposedly" have a 50 year warranty. The "10 year" labor warranty that we have directly from the Saleshole via text is now "5 years"? "Oh, I made a mistake." Oh really? Accidentally typing a 6, 7, 8 or 9 could be "considered", but physically typing 10 years on your text? You knew what the hell you were typing and it was blatantly false. We will force the owner to honor that warranty.

Nice gaps in the plywood a-holes.

The last picture shows the super gutter. See the wood rot?? That's what is supposed to be replaced AT THE SAME TIME. At least gutter guy will be there tomorrow. They've left the plywood un-nailed, even though the underlayment is on there.

As far as 50 year warranties in AZ vs. FL, I can see where a roof would last that long in AZ, but FL is a monsoon area 4 months a year. Simply way too much water to not cause rot over time. Regardless, we're out of this house in less than 7 years.

Technically there is supposed to be a small gap on the sheathing to keep it from buckling

I understand your point, but at the same time, the existing sheathing, as seen in other pictures, has much tighter tolerances, including the new pieces they have installed. This picture just looks sloppy. Look at the picture of the front left of the house.

The uphill joint looks ok, but the downhill side has a bit too much gap. If the sheet above and below are original, the best they can do it split the differences.

I did rough carpentry for a couple years in my late teens. Plywood was "gapped" to keep it from buckling as vetteman9368 wrote. We also used sheetmetal clips to support the areas between the rafters/ joists

You'll want to make sure its fixed right now, so you don't have to fix it right when you go to sell in 7 years.

We want to ram the 10 year labor warranty up the owner's ass and force the issue. Having a warranty when we sell will be an asset.

70' of fascia replaced and a new, wider super gutter installed! I am SO GLAD we opted to do this part, even if it's extra out of our pocket. Wood was SHIT.

God US Homes could not do a roof to save their lives. They should have been hit with a class action lawsuit over this neighborhood. We have had so many leaks over the years, and so has every other effing house in this community...all 501 of them.

Patty is having the worst week of her life. These guys are absolute clowns. How's this for quality? Got enough nails? Not to mention the rot they didn't cut out. Is the gap big enough for fascia? She made them tear it off and do it again. One of the owners was there taking photos all day. Either preparing for a lawsuit, or trying to justify additional charges.

Patty has grown a massive set of balls and is not taking any shit from these clowns. I suspect the end product will be just fine, and I'm sure I'm going to get raped on up charges for wood, but the quality of their work without supervision has been a nightmare. Thank GOD she could take the time to babysit these clowns.
