Why were you banned?

I believe I've been banned permanently twice and went to camp for a few months on CFOT. Can't really remember why now. But I do know the crybabies that complained and they're regulars on CFOT. None of them have shown up here yet that I know of, but when they do....paybacks are hell and no hiding behind the skirts of the mods.

I got banned because I spoke of a website that wasn't the corvette forum. They banned me and said I was promoting another corvette site, when that couldn't be farther from the truth.... the site is an ALL car site

It was my offering to donate $10 from each badge to St. Jude for my effort. That year, I made over 260 badges. I paid for the supplies out of my own pocket. Supplies and postage cost me personally over $3 per badge, and yet I charged $10 for a badge and donated $10 for a badge.

This morphed into the making of T-shirts both before, and for sale during, that year's Cruise-In. In fact, you should remember the 12' banner very well that was graciously donated by Yell01, and improved by WNeal with all of the fiber-optic lights.

As far as Liz goes, SHE NEVER ONCE solicited t-shirts sales ANYWHERE, except at the adjoining hotels.

At the end of the day, I was personally responsible for $11,000 due to this fund raiser for St. Jude in 2007.

It appears that everyone, and their brothers, wanted to jump on my coat tails and claim me as their own. I have continued to donate all of my time, up until 12/31/2010, even during the Pay-it-forward thread, where I personally gave away $1,100 of my own hard-earned cash. Several hundred of that went to St. Jude due to the generosity of the recipients of my gifts.

All that being said, you will notice in the "Vette Barn May get together thread", I have offered to do badges for this site again, and donate the proceeds to the NCM.

Given the cash cow that I was for St. Jude over the past 4 years, it troubles me that it exploded as it did, between Adam Boca's emotions and Robert and Jesse's emotions, when, it was just one guy, donating hundreds and hundreds of hours of his own time to raise a great deal of cash.

I have not posted at CF in 3 days, and I don't suspect I will be posting soon.

While I care very much about St. Jude, and will likely continue to donate personally to the cause, I'm pretty much done with my former life of being a big shot of fundraising on that forum.

I feel violated and sad that all of the greed and politics tried to dictate to whom I could donate my hard efforts toward.

Never was banned but I haven't posted once in CFOT since I came over here a couple of weeks ago. I still post occasionally in CFPR&C just because I really don't feel like dealing with the PR&C crowd here. For instance, Joecooool and I have pretty much exact opposite political leanings, but we get along great in person and since Obama is pretty much going down in flames without my help ( ) I'll stay out of the politics here.

It was interesting reading why some of you got banned, I really never followed the gossip nor was interested in it. Same for the charitable things CF sponsored. My wife and I do our own charity stuff and keep it to ourselves for the most part. I don't ask for anything and don't want people asking me. I've been on CF for almost 10 years and am still limited to 50 PM's for crying out loud!

I will still use CF to search for parts and stuff when I feel the need.

Shortly after the ban another I noticed another member had started using it for his avatar and kept it for awhile. I'm still there, but my posting (which was already slow) has slowed even more lately. I got an invite over here and I think what little bit of free time that I have to be on a forum will be here more than elsewhere.

I've been banned from CF, but currently I'm not. although I'm on real thin ice for using any short cut to the "F" word. I was informed how many times in 6 years I have done this. they actually counted.

I like the pr&c forum over there...a lot of smart guys there and some good info/links if you wade through the crap.

OT is still OT...just missing some of the smart asses that make it fun.

Never have been banned in over 10 years of posting.

I've had many, many warnings.

Its sad that such a great forum has gone the path that it has. It survived the Sensei Earl years and came back and I am sure it will again.

I like it over here because its like the CFOT of old. Many of the people that made CFOT great are here.
