I had a '75 that I restored. Frame rust was a problem, don't think the floors are steel?
I won't do another. Never get your money out of it so unless you just enjoy the challenge, I'd let the other guy pay you to buy his car. |

If it was relatively close to me I'd buy it. Wouldn't tag it or title it, it would sit in my driveway as an ornament.

I love the style, but those soft bumper cars are notorious for the bumpers deteriorating into a pile of trash.
The Corvette Black Book says, "The 1976 Corvette received a partial steel underbelly in the forward section. This was done for added rigidity and to better isolate the passenger compartment from the temperatures being created by the engines which were calibrated to run hotter (and thus more efficiently) to offset some of the emissions-related power losses." Sounds like a money pit. |

Guarantee the Radiator Core Support is rusted out, another expense. If you really love the car and could get it for free, it might be worth it. Otherwise, nah. It's a parts car. |

I've been looking for some time for a C3/C4 clunker junker to have sitting near the garage. If crappy looking, I'd throw an Earl Schieb Special on it that would make it look decent at 200' from the road and looked like it belongs there. No hillbilly junkyard look.

Badge on front clip doesn't look right for a '76, but hard to tell in the picture. WTF is wrong with the nose right in front of the badge, looks like it is likely completely trashed. No rearview mirrors on the car, passenger side looks broken off. Passenger side door handle is broken or missing. Driver's side T-Top obviously doesn't fit right, is unquestionably leaking, and likely the cause of the floor rot. I could go on about the obvious problems with the hood, but I think it better to just say it has major problems. I shudder to think of the mold and mildew in the interior from storage outside with an obviously leaking T-Top.
I don't know about you guys, but after careful consideration, I think I'm going to have to pass on this one. Hopefully one of you guys can land this little gem, and I wish you the best of luck with it! |

I ain't skeered except it is priced about $750 too high and it is a looong way from here.
Just for comparison sake, I paid the princely sum of $450.00 (yes FoFiddy) for the 77 in my avatar, and that car came with a clear GA title and no back advalorum taxes due. Then again I do all my own work unless it requires a machine shop... the car even got painted right where it sits in the pic... hell I don't even have a garage or concrete slab to work on! |
