I don't think it's because of the adaptive cruise control.

People just drive like tits. I think if you're on the highway people will shadow you but they won't pass you because they want you to get the ticket instead of them (assuming you're going faster than the speed limit).

On city streets I don't know what the deal is but people go nuts if I pass them. Everyone drives the same speed in multiple lanes side-by-side. It's annoying. And cars change lanes if there's a slow-moving bus or truck in front of them but they won't pass the ****ing thing. They just go beside it and match speed. ****. Makes my blood boil.

I have something similar. It measures how fast I am approaching another vehicle and warns me that I am closing too fast.

OK Boomers, I agree...

Cruise Control, Like Self Driving Cars, certainly cause accidents and road fatalities due to mechanical and operator errors.

And furthermore...

Whoever didn't learn how to drive at age 12 in an early 6Os Pick Up Truck with a Three on the Tree in the crowded traffic filled urban streets and highways is just a flat out shitty driver.

Tesla will do that unless you have on "automatic pass" which it will do if traffic allows.

I find you can brake check those cars and turn the cruise off. If someone is hauling ass, I will pull a reasonable distance behind them and use them as a rabbit.

Nissans have had it a few years (ICCS - Intelligent Cruise Control Sensor). There is a distance sensor behind the grille that malfunctions regularly making the light come on in the cluster. I bill out at least one a day at $650/$950 each. I like 'em.

Had the one on my '18 Sentra fixed a few weeks ago. It's under warranty and the service writer says there's a recall on it. I have never received a recall notice though. Maybe more like a TSB? Anyway, didn't cost me anything.

Is there a recall on it?

Pretty sure I saw Epiphany a long time ago.

I wonder if my truck has it? Think I'll test it out on the way home today. Set it at 90 and see if I hit anyone.

No recall as of yet, just the TSB.

P.S. On a side note do the maintenance schedules on that CVT. 80/120k is usual life otherwise. Just sayin'.
We have a '10 Murano with 170k on the original CVT. It has had all recommended services since day one. So far, so good.

Thanks. The interesting thing is once they changed the sensor, that one immediately proved to be defective also, so they changed it again. I was there for almost four hours. But that tells me there are defective parts on their shelf. Has that happened to you?

I agree with the CVT. It's a leased car, so I'm not sure I will buy it at the end of the lease, but I will do the servicing if I own it then. I'd be willing to bet most of the ones that fail were not serviced in a timely and proper manner. Are there benefits to servicing it sooner than recommended? When would you service it if it were yours? It's a 2018 Sentra.
